Syracuse alumnae Megan Carney, Emily Hawryschuk, Meaghan Tyrrell and Emma Tyrrell will play for the New York Charging of the new Women’s Lacrosse League.
The league announced its rosters Thursday, which includes 12 players on four teams — Boston Guard, Maryland Charm, California Palms and the Charging. In a sixes-style tournament, 12 players will compete in a round-robin tournament.
Carney and Hawryschuk were present for the WLL’s initial announcement on Nov. 13. Carney played five years for the Orange from 2019-23, totaling 192 goals and 271 points while capturing IWLCA All-American honors multiple times.
Hawryschuk similarly starred at SU. From 2017-22, she served as the focal point of its offense, notching 272 goals and 341 points.
Meaghan is the program’s all-time points leader, leading the team from 2019-23 and being named a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2021 and 2022. Emma rounds out the group. She led SU in goals and points in 2024, helping the Orange to their second-straight Final Four.
Along with SU’s alumnae, the Charging features former Northwestern stars Izzy Scane and Erin Coykendall. The WLL will kick off on Feb. 11 in Springfield, Virginia, at the 2025 Lexus Championship Series.
