The Syracuse Police Department responded to four reported burglaries across the city between 1:57 and 3:04 a.m. Friday morning, according to a Friday SPD release.

Friday morning’s incidents come just over a week after another spree of burglaries that SPD believes to be connected.

Officers responded to the first burglary report in the 1000 block of Canal Street. Upon arrival, they found a U-Haul van had been stolen from a business.

About 12 minutes later, SPD responded to another reported break-in at a business in the 2100 block of Erie Boulevard East. Officers found that a fenced-in area of the business had been entered and a tow chain was stolen.

At about 2:37 a.m., officers responded to an ATM alarm activation on the 500 block of Erie Boulevard West. A 17-year-old male and two 16-year-olds males were found damaging the business’s ATM. They had arrived in the stolen U-Haul. After a short chase on foot, the three juveniles were arrested. The damage caused to the ATM is expected to be over $150,000, according to the release.

The three juveniles were charged with burglary in the third degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and attempted grand larceny in the second degree after being found at one of the burglary sites, the release states. After an initial investigation, SPD believes the three burglaries are connected.

In an update to the release, SPD reported that the three juveniles were released by a judge on recognizance.

At around 3:04 a.m., officers responded to a separate burglary report in the 3000 block of Erie Boulevard East. Officers believe the suspects entered a business through its drive-thru window, but have not yet determined if anything was stolen. No arrests have been announced in this incident.

SPD’s investigations into these incidents remain active. Anyone with information can contact SPD at (315) 442-5222.
