High school football in central New York kicked off on Thursday night in the Carrier Dome and continued through Saturday. The Daily Orange had reporters at seven games — six in the Dome and one at Cicero-North Syracuse — over the course of the weekend.
Here are the week one highlights.
Ogdensburg versus Sauquoit Valley (at the Carrier Dome)
Sauquoit Valley had no answer for Ogdensburg’s ground game on Thursday night in the Dome. The Blue Devils finished the game with 432 rushing yards to win, 55-0.

New Hartford versus Oneida (at the Carrier Dome)
In a back and forth game, Oneida broke out with a two touchdown lead and New Hartford came back and knotted the game up at 20. But it was the game’s MVP, Oneida’s Steven Barrett, who ran for 50 yards in two plays to take the lead, which the Indians held onto to win, 26-20.
