DPS, local police investigate reported robbery on Comstock Avenue

Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety and the Syracuse Police Department are investigating a reported robbery on the 900 block of Comstock Avenue near Oakwood Cemetery, according to a public safety notice sent just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

At about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, a student reported being approached by three males, one of which displayed a gray handgun, according to a second public safety update sent just after 12:45 a.m. Monday.

The suspects allegedly demanded the student’s property, and the student gave the suspects their backpack, wallet and cellphone, according to the email.

The three suspects then reportedly fled north on Comstock Avenue before heading east on Acorn Path, according to the email. No injuries were reported.



The suspects were described as being in their late teens to early 20s, with dark clothing that included hooded sweatshirts, according to the email.
