Here are three takeaways from the Student Association’s Monday night meeting in Watson Theatre.
Director of diversity affairs
SA voted on Monday to approve to have the student body vote upon the creation of a director of diversity affairs within the organization in the upcoming election.
Undergraduate research
SA will again be allocating $10,000 toward undergraduate research. Syracuse University’s Office of the Provost and Office of Research have also committed money to the initiative.
Buses to Houston and Indianapolis
The Division of Student Affairs sponsored three buses to Houston and one bus to Indianapolis to give SU students the opportunity to attend the Final Four games for SU’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.
SA President Aysha Seedat said the buses were a big hit with students. The bus to Indianapolis has yet to return as the students who traveled on it have been given the opportunity to continue showing their support for the women’s basketball team by attending the national championship game against the University of Connecticut on Tuesday.
