SA Elections 2015

Details remain unclear regarding potential SA presidential debate on Wednesday night

UPDATED: April 8, 2015 at 9:36 a.m.

An additional Student Association presidential debate has been scheduled, though details of the event remain unclear.

The debate, which is sponsored by the NPHC, will take place at 8:30 p.m. in Lyman Hall, room 132. Doors for “The Great Debate” open at 8 p.m. It is unclear which of the five members running for SA president will take part in the debate.

Danielle Reed, who sent a flyer for the debate to The Daily Orange, said in a text message Wednesday morning that presidential candidate Aysha Seedat and her running mate Jane Hong will not be going to the debate.

Of the five candidates running for SA president, four are write-in candidates. The write-in candidates will not be taking part in the official SA-sponsored election forum because they are not recognized by the organization as candidates.

The SA-sponsored election forum is scheduled for April 12 at 8 p.m. in the Shaffer Art Building, room 121. Seedat and Hong can participate in the forum.

University-wide elections begin April 13 and run through April 16. Students can vote on MySlice.
